two guys and a missing girl

i woke up today from a wonderful night's rest and the sudden apprehension of going back to school washed over me.

i hate that feeling, much as i dislike going back to school. think about it, its another year of routine that i have to go through with. and that totally sucks.

anyway. i've got better stuff to talk about first.

HAPPY NEW YEAR GUYS!! gong xi fa cai...

Part I

okay so anyway. i think i've had the best new year since i can remember! starting saturday night, when we had our reunion dinner. lots of food, everyone had fun mingling around, you had about 4 people going around taking photos [that will hopefully come round to you] and it was fun! we had some sorta jam session, with our talented cousins playing [namely, JONATHAN, aimee, and elena] and my bro too. well, it was pretty much a one-sided affair with the adults forcing the kids to play songs they didnt want to! while the adults sing along to songs that were way too high for them.

face it, my mum trying to sound like sarah brightman didnt work too well. my bro did it much better XD phantom of the opera, now that was one funny song XD

then the hymns came along and both jon and my bro retired to make way for the the girls! aimee and elena. and after singing a few songs..i joined the guys and retired to the family room cause i couldnt really take it already XD all good fun though. in there, we were entertained by sianjiun's antics XD which were really funny, his storytelling skills are number one! all the actions and everything...HAHAHA. funny.

then we went for dessert..and back for another round of singing, no hymns this time, more hillsongs and the likes. so yea, there was the music, there were the people, jumping up and down while the parents look at us as though we were high on non-alcoholic grape juice. i think some of them snapped photos too..i hope they turned out blur.

THEN after that came the highlight of chinese new year. which was the giving out/receiving of hongbaos. which was done in style, i must say. all the cousins were lined up in a row, from oldest to youngest and were called out one by one to get their hongbaos. this went on for about 3 rounds before they decided that it was easier for the hongbao-giver to go around instead. so when it was done, all of us had a stack of hongbaos. pretty much anyway. *camera fund....*

after taking some photos, we left the house. but that wasnt really the end of my 23-hour day. [bear in mind i woke up at 6.30am to work]

we took jon home along with us cause he was sleeping over. we watched the bourne supremacy, which i missed the ending to cause i was drifting in and out of consciousness [commonly known, as termed by sarah, as her power naps] and by the time the movie was over the power naps had taken effect and i was up and alert. so yada yada i think my bro went to sleep straight away, as usual the first to conk out, while jon and i talked and talked and talked until 6 in the morning. as usual. which is always fun, cept i forgot he had school the next day and that i shld actually give him some sleep =/ my bad.

and that was the end of my 23-hour day. not the end of the post, mind you.

Part II

after sleeping at 6, we were woken up at 9 for breakfast. 3 hours of sleep was definitely not good enough. only thing was that my bro had stolen my quilt which rendered me quilt-less, which left me out in the cold at night so i was pretty happy to be woken up and to get out of the cold. had breakfast..yadayada. church..yadayada. went over to jon's for lunch, then to jaron's to visit, my house for tea, and elena's for dinner. action-packed, i know. we were watching the finals..and it was kinda disappointing in the sense that from the third set on baghdatis was pretty much outta sorts..but he did play well, credit to that guy.

everyone left quite early after dinner, since it'd been a long, long day. cept i stayed 2 hours longer than everyone else who'd decided to karaoke. for 2 hours! i think they were high on wine..i was dying to get home by then cause 3 hours of sleep wouldnt sustain me much..but nope. we had to listen to them go. finally at 1030pm the effect of the wine wore off..and we departed from there.

and i got home and i slept.

those 10 hours of sleep was just wonderful. i need to rest before school starts. when the hell begins again.

and i've got another mess to clean up today. homemade banana muffins anyone?
